In a world full of negativity

Every once and awhile something beautiful catches my eye in the midst of all the chaos. With all of the distractions on social media, news, impeachments and viruses… There are beautiful souls like Ms. Stephens making the world a better place for our kids.

Teaching can be challenging. There are times when you feel as though you’re not making a difference, not academically and not socially. Then, every so often, you get a surprise blessing from God to let you know that He is working and that it is all bigger than you. How did a little girl, who cried her heart out to me about the loss of her grandpa and how she had to spend Christmas without him in her life, manage to make me cry with a note from her heart? She wanted to know why her note wasn’t hanging in the place I put it on Friday and if I ate her chocolates. I ate every single piece of the chocolate she gave me and her note will return to its original location tomorrow.
Pray for our students NYC and America. Pray for our educators, be they administrators, teachers, or staff.

NYC is a hard place to teach. I am so happy to see one teacher caring and teaching this child empathy and compassion. These qualities are of course contagious. So many people can see someone suffering and just go back to looking at their phones or Facebook. It takes a…
